System Resiliency & System Safety Engineer

Federal Government Project

We are seeking highly skilled engineers with deep expertise in System Resiliency, System Safety, and Failure Analysis to support a cutting-edge Federal Government initiative focused on mission-critical aerospace and defense systems.

This role is ideal for candidates who have worked within highly regulated, high-availability environments where reliability, fault tolerance, and system survivability are essential. Candidates with experience supporting aerospace, aviation, defense, or other mission-critical environments are strongly preferred.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze and improve resiliency of complex mission-critical systems
  • Perform system safety assessments and failure mode analysis (FMEA/FMECA)
  • Evaluate how systems fail, degrade, and recover under adverse conditions
  • Support reliability engineering and fault-tolerant architecture initiatives
  • Develop and apply mathematical models to predict system behavior, reliability, and operational risk
  • Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to improve system robustness and survivability
  • Identify single points of failure and recommend mitigation strategies
  • Support root cause investigations and corrective action planning
  • Contribute to system validation, testing, and operational readiness activities

Desired Background

  • Strong background in Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), System Resiliency, or Reliability Engineering
  • Experience understanding and modeling system failures, fault propagation, and recovery mechanisms
  • Hands-on experience with:
    • Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA/FMECA)
    • Reliability Engineering
    • System Safety Engineering
    • Fault Tree Analysis (FTA)
    • Hazard Analysis
  • Mathematical modeling or simulation experience highly preferred
  • Experience within aerospace, aviation, defense, or other highly regulated mission-critical industries
  • FAA experience or familiarity with FAA-regulated systems/environments is highly preferred
  • Prior experience supporting Federal Government or DoD-related programs preferred

Preferred Experience

  • Aerospace or aviation systems
  • Mission-critical infrastructure or defense systems
  • High-availability or fault-tolerant system environments
  • Safety-critical engineering programs
  • Reliability and survivability analysis

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Physics, Systems Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related field
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work within highly technical and collaborative engineering environments
  • MUST be a U.S. Citizen
  • Active security clearance is a plus, but not required for all openings

This is an exciting opportunity to support advanced systems where resiliency, reliability, and safety are mission critical.
