Our client is a European start-up specializing in electronic warfare, secure communications, and precision localization technologies for the defense sector.

Key points of the position

Reporting to the engineering leadership, you will ensure the successful integration and deployment of advanced defense systems within complex customer environments and operational platforms.

Responsibilities

As a Systems Engineer – Software Application & Field Integration, your missions will include:

• Leading the technical integration of software and hardware solutions within complex customer ecosystems, including third-party platforms, Command and Control (C2) systems, and tactical networks
• Deploying systems directly with end users and supporting field trials, demonstrations, and operational deployments
• Acting as the main technical interface between internal engineering teams and external stakeholders such as Prime contractors, government customers, and technology partners
• Advising partners and customers on the optimal integration of APIs, software interfaces, and data streams
• Troubleshooting complex system-of-systems integration issues by analyzing network traffic, system logs, and software interfaces
• Developing quick diagnostic scripts (Python, Bash) and tools to support debugging and data analysis in the field
• Translating operational feedback and integration challenges into actionable requirements for product and engineering teams

Necessary skills

• Proven experience in Systems Engineering, Field Application Engineering, or Technical Integration roles
• Experience with defense, aerospace, or complex deep-tech environments is strongly appreciated
• Strong understanding of software architectures, IP-based communication systems, and API integrations
• Comfortable working with network analysis, system logs, and integration troubleshooting
• Strong communication skills and comfortable interacting with both engineers and operational end users
• Experience with scripting languages such as Python or Bash is appreciated
• Fluent German and English are imperative
• Eligibility for German security clearance (SÜ2/Ü2) is required: German or EU citizenship mandatory

Salary

80–120k euros gross annual
