The Command Center Software (CCSW) organization is dedicated to delivering cutting-edge software and hardware solutions. Our efforts are focused on ensuring seamless software upgrades, minimizing customer downtime, and optimizing their maintenance experience during critical moments.
Job Description
The Systems Engineering Manager, reporting to the Platform Migration Director, oversees all solutions delivery activities. As a leader, you will mentor, guide, and train your team while utilizing your strong technical background to lead technology delivery and support initiatives. Your excellent communication skills will allow you to engage effectively with both technical staff and customers.
Responsibilities
- Set team goals, conduct performance reviews, manage resources, and supervise day-to-day operations.
- Plan and facilitate training and development initiatives for team members.
- Implement strategic initiatives focused on continuous improvement and operational efficiency.
- Collaborate with ESI Lab leadership to ensure comprehensive testing of upgrade migration paths and deployment procedures.
- Ensure timely communication regarding product lifecycles for efficient delivery.
- Work with the CCSW Contracts team to understand and fulfill Motorola Solutions' contractual obligations.
- Provide guidance and support to your team, fostering a culture of mentorship and growth.
Qualifications
- Experience designing and implementing complex systems with integration of third-party products.
- Deep knowledge of operating environments in Public Safety.
- Familiarity with Next Generation Public Safety trends and standards.
- Understanding of:
- Server Virtualization, notably with VMWare and OpenShift.
- Database Servers, especially Microsoft SQL Server.
- Networking (TCP/IP Protocols).
- Proven experience managing a professional team.
- Experience leading complex projects and directing activities across organizational boundaries.
- Strong critical thinking skills for troubleshooting and decision-making.
- Ability to collaborate with regional management and communicate effectively with stakeholders.
- Excellent presentation skills are essential.
Salary Information
The target base salary range is $110,000 - $120,000 USD, based on experience and qualifications.
This position requires working in high-security areas governed by the U.S. Department of Justice's CJIS Security Policy, necessitating a stringent fingerprint background check.
Basic Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
- 10+ years of experience in technology project deployment and integration or operations and administration.
- Ability to obtain background clearance as required by government customers.
- Must possess legal authorization to work in the U.S. indefinitely; employer work permit sponsorship is not available.
