Rail Systems Project Manager

About Our Client

Our client, an established rail consultancy, is currently seeking a Rail Systems Project Manager to join their team.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage a team of Project Engineers, Planners, Coordinators, Designers, Inspectors, and other staff as required
• Prepare project work plans and schedules and obtain management/client approval
• Maintain regular communication with clients regarding project status and quality, resolving issues proactively
• Manage relationships with project stakeholders, including internal and external clients, vendors, regulatory authorities, technical agencies, and the public
• Track, analyse, and report on actual performance against the plan, and prepare cost and schedule reports for clients and internal processes
• Address change management matters promptly and professionally with clients and internal departments
• Analyse project management and delivery risks, establish contingency plans, and identify mitigation actions
• Uphold quality assurance, safety, and regulatory standards throughout the project lifecycle

Job Requirements

• Experience in Systems Design, Systems Engineering, and Project Management
• University degree in Engineering or Construction Management
• Professional Engineering licence in the province of Ontario (or be eligible)
• Project Management Professional certification is an asset
• Strong technical acumen and experience with complex transit infrastructure, including heavy and light rail, commuter rail, and subway technologies, facilities, and stations
• Familiarity with commonly used project delivery models
• Experience in project planning, risk management, cost management, and schedule management
• Effective communication and stakeholder management skills
