Systems/Business Analyst

About

• Acts as the key link between business and IT, translating requirements into scalable system solutions
• Works across the full SDLC, from requirements through to design, testing, implementation, and support
• Operates in a cross-functional environment with developers, stakeholders, and business teams

Key Responsibilities

• Gather, analyse, and document complex business and system requirements
• Design system architecture, integrations, and technical solutions aligned to business needs
• Develop and support automation and integration components (APIs, services, etc.)
• Create technical test cases and perform unit testing
• Provide system support (L1-L3) and ensure SLA adherence
• Monitor system performance and drive continuous improvement
• Lead stakeholder engagement, ensuring alignment on priorities, risks, and delivery
• Support go-live activities and post-implementation optimisation

Technical Leadership

• Provide guidance, oversight, and quality assurance across team deliverables
• Drive best practices, standards, and governance across the SDLC
• Mentor and coach junior team members
• Assist with work planning, prioritisation, and delivery tracking

Requirements

• 7+ years' experience in Systems Analysis / Systems Design / Software Development or similar
• Strong experience in system integration and automation
• Proven experience working in cross-functional, technical teams
• Exposure to technical leadership (mentoring, QA, oversight)

Technical Skills

• Strong SQL (MySQL / Microsoft SQL Server)
• API integration (REST, SOAP, Web Services)
• Understanding of system architecture and design
• Experience with Jira and Confluence
• Exposure to programming languages (e.g. Java, C#, Python) beneficial

Nice to Have

• ITIL knowledge or certification
• Experience with automation tools
• OOAD and project coordination exposure
• Banking / financial services experience

Job Details

• Location: Stellenbosch, Cape Town
• Work Model: 3 Days on site
• Contract Duration: 6 Months (Opportunity to convert to permanent based on performance)
