Your Role
As Head of Mechanical Engineering, you will lead an experienced design team in the field of electron microscopy. By developing, designing, and engineering mechanical components, you and your team will significantly contribute to our innovations. The scope of topics ranges from mechatronic precision systems to UHV and high-voltage components.
- Technical and disciplinary leadership: You will be responsible for mechanical development in the field of electron microscopy.
- Setting development standards: Together with your team, you will set new development standards and processes to ensure quality assurance.
- Interdisciplinary collaboration: You will involve relevant interfaces early in the development process and actively shape it.
- Coaching and knowledge transfer: As part of the transformation, you will promote coaching, further development, and knowledge exchange within the team.
- Ensuring resources and capacities: You will ensure the necessary competencies, infrastructure, and capacities to establish a sustainable and innovative development process.
Your Profile
- Qualification: You have a very good technical degree in mechanical engineering, precision engineering, mechatronics, or a related field (a subsequent doctorate is also welcome).
- Leadership experience: You have experience in the technical and disciplinary leadership of a development team for complex mechanical or mechatronic components.
- Driving innovation: You rethink processes, set standards, keep the customer focus in mind, and involve your team and all relevant interfaces early on.
- Potential recognition: You recognize potential, utilize it purposefully, and coach your team within the framework of an agile transformation.
- Strong communication and empathy: You convince and support your team in shaping new paths to ensure effectiveness and value creation.
- Interdisciplinary collaboration: You maintain interfaces with our UK site and are willing to travel occasionally.
