Tech Lead / Principal Solutions Architect

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Tech Lead / Principal Solutions Architect to serve as the lead architect for an enterprise data services and visualization platform supporting a federal agency. This role will be responsible for designing and governing modern cloud-based data warehouse, data lake, and analytics solutions within an AWS environment.

The ideal candidate will lead architecture strategy, data modeling, platform modernization, and scalable pipeline design while working closely with business stakeholders, engineers, analysts, and visualization teams. This position requires deep expertise in enterprise data architecture, cloud platforms, performance optimization, governance, and leadership.

Required Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in Data Warehousing / Data Architecture
• Strong experience designing cloud-based data lakes and enterprise warehouses
• Expertise with AWS technologies including S3, Redshift, Aurora PostgreSQL
• Experience with Databricks and/or Palantir Foundry
• Strong knowledge of dimensional modeling, star/snowflake schemas, and SCD strategies
• Experience optimizing large-scale warehouse performance and ingestion pipelines
• Experience creating logical and physical data models across multiple source systems
• Strong SQL and data engineering knowledge
• Excellent communication and leadership skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Federal / Government agency project experience
• Experience with Palantir Foundry Ontology, Code Repositories, Contour, Quiver, Workshop
• 2+ years with Tableau / Qlik / Socrata integrations
• 2+ years in Data Catalog / Metadata Management solutions
• 5+ years of Systems Architecture experience
• Experience with Terraform / CloudFormation / IaC
• Strong technical documentation and presentation experience
