At OVHcloud, Kafka is a central shared component: its availability, performance, and proper use impact the entire information system.

Your Role

• Make architectural, capacity, and governance decisions that significantly impact our users, particularly in anticipating evolutions or migrations.
• Ensure the quality of the platform, which directly influences OVHcloud's ability to integrate its systems, share data in near real-time, and accelerate the delivery of internal projects.
• Take on a Tech Lead role involving decision-making and communication with various stakeholders during incidents of varying severity.
• Share budgetary and sustainability responsibility regarding reliability and cost objectives.

Your Main Responsibilities

• Ensure the QoS and SLOs of the Kafka platform
• Guarantee the application of SRE best practices
• Maintain the current offering operationally (MCO)
• Define the technical roadmap for the scope
• Plan and prioritize tasks within sprints
• Advise clients on their architectural choices related to Kafka or RabbitMQ

• You will have become the recognized expert within the company on Kafka/RabbitMQ topics.
• You will have generalized automation so that every recurring task is optimized.
• You will have enabled the scope to grow smoothly without impacting the RUN workload.

Required Skills

• You have Linux expertise (system and network).
• You master Bare Metal server management and VM administration under VMware.
• You have proven experience with Kubernetes.
• You master "as code" tools and configuration managers (Terraform, Puppet, Ansible).
• You develop in one of the following languages: Golang, Python, or Java.
• You demonstrate leadership, the ability to delegate, and to make strategic decisions quickly (planning, roadmap vision, openness to change).

Nice to Have

• You have expertise in Apache Kafka and/or RabbitMQ.
