About the role
Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join our team as a Manager, Technical Accounting & Financial Reporting. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing technical accounting research, adoption of new accounting standards, SOX compliance, and various other financial reporting functions. This role requires a strong understanding of US GAAP and experience with public accounting.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Conduct technical accounting research and provide guidance on complex accounting issues.
- Coordinate the adoption and implementation of new accounting standards as relevant.
- Write position papers on transactions and issues, as needed.
- Ensure compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) requirements.
- Collaborate with external auditors to facilitate audit processes.
- Perform periodic tests for impairment (ASC 350 & 360).
- Perform account reconciliations and review journal entries for accuracy and compliance.
- Prepare statutory financial statements and ensure timely filing of all financial reports.
- Review US GAAP adjustments at foreign affiliates to ensure consistency and accuracy.
- Lead and assist in various technical accounting improvement projects as appropriate.
Management/Supervisory Responsibilities

Education/Experience (all required unless noted as “preferred”)
- Bachelor's degree in business or accounting.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation is required.
- Public accounting experience is strongly preferred.
- Minimum of 4 to 6 years of relevant experience in financial reporting and technical accounting.
- Strong knowledge of US GAAP and experience with SOX compliance.
- Experience with Oracle ERP system a plus.
- More public accounting experience (with public clients) vs. industry.
