Technical Broker/Account Executive (Dual Role)

Simah is seeking a highly skilled and commercially minded Technical Broker /Account Executive to join our Gqeberha (PE) team. This dual-role position offers the unique opportunity to service clients, drive new business, and provide expert technical broking solutions within a dynamic environment.

What you’ll do

• Own, manage, and grow a portfolio of commercial and corporate clients, acting as a strategic advisor.
• Analyse client risk and profitability, propose innovative insurance solutions, and optimise existing structures.
• Lead technical placement, policy drafting, closings, endorsements, and broking notes at an expert level.
• Build strong relationships with insurers, reinsurers, and internal stakeholders to secure the best outcomes for clients.
• Identify and convert high-value new business opportunities aligned to target markets.
• Collaborate across risk, claims, and finance teams to deliver seamless client solutions.

What we’re looking for

• NQF Level 6 Short-Term Insurance qualification or similar
• FAIS Fit and Proper – Authorised Representative, RE 5
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in Commercial/Corporate short-term insurance
• Proven ability to manage senior client relationships, grow portfolios, and place complex insurance solutions
• Advanced - level knowledge of commercial insurance products
• Strong negotiation, influencing, and commercial thinking skills
• BCom or Risk Management degree advantageous
• Experience working with Risk Management teams or insurance brokerages preferred
