Technical Business/Data Analyst

Role Overview

We are looking for a Business/Data Analyst who can support end to end data analysis across multiple systems and cloud data platforms. The role focuses on understanding business needs, analyzing data flows, validating transformations, and ensuring high quality data for reporting and analytics.

Key Responsibilities:

Data Analysis & Profiling

• Analyze datasets from operational, reference, and enterprise sources.
• Perform data profiling, lineage tracing, and impact analysis.
• Identify data gaps, inconsistencies, and quality issues.
• Validate data across on prem and cloud environments.

Data Mapping & Transformation

• Document source to target mappings and transformation logic.
• Work with engineering teams to ensure accurate ETL/ELT implementation.
• Validate standardization, enrichment, and referential integrity across datasets.

Data Quality & Governance

• Define and apply data quality rules and validation checks.
• Support remediation of missing or incorrect data.
• Contribute to documentation, traceability, and governance processes.

Collaboration with Architecture & Modeling Teams

• Review logical and physical data models with architects/modelers.
• Ensure business requirements align with data structures and relationships.

Cloud Data Platform Work

• Work with data stored in AWS or similar platforms (S3, Redshift, RDS, Snowflake).
• Validate ingestion, transformation, and consumption layers.

Requirements & Documentation

• Translate business needs into clear data requirements and user stories.
• Maintain mapping documents, data dictionaries, business rules, and quality frameworks.
• Use tools like JIRA and Confluence for documentation and tracking.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor s degree in IT, Computer Science, Business, or related field.
• 6+ years as a Business Analyst or Data Analyst in data driven environments.
• Strong experience in data analysis, profiling, mapping, and SQL.
• Experience with data warehouses and cloud platforms (AWS preferred).
• Solid understanding of data quality, governance, and lifecycle concepts.
• Strong analytical, communication, and problem solving skills.
• Familiarity with JIRA, Confluence, and basic IT infrastructure.
• Experience with APIs, data warehouses, or third party data platforms is a plus.
• Exposure to logical data modeling and ETL/ELT processes is beneficial.
• Knowledge of financial or institutional data domains is a plus.
