Code 10 Driver / Technical Delivery Driver

Summary

Our client in the bakery and food production industry is seeking a Code 10 Driver / Technical Delivery Driver based at their Cape Town depot.

The successful candidate will be responsible for deliveries, basic machine inspections and repairs, stock control, paperwork administration, and customer service at various retail and bakery sites.

Position Info

• Location: Montague Gardens, Cape Town
• Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 07h45 – 17h00

Requirements

• Valid Code 10 driver’s licence
• Valid PDP
• Previous delivery driving experience
• Good administration and record-keeping skills
• Technically minded with the ability to work with machinery and equipment
• Ability to complete trip sheets, job cards, vehicle checklists, and delivery documentation accurately
• Good communication and customer service skills
• Ability to work independently and manage daily routes effectively
• Willingness to travel and sleep over approximately twice every six weeks (accommodation and meals covered by the company)
• Reliable, punctual, and well organised

Key Responsibilities

• Complete daily deliveries to retail stores and bakery clients
• Perform vehicle inspections and report any faults immediately
• Verify stock, batch numbers, invoices, and delivery quantities before dispatch
• Ensure all required documentation is completed and submitted daily
• Conduct basic machine inspections and minor repairs on-site
• Install loan machines where required
• Maintain accurate job cards, trip sheets, fuel records, and stock records
• Liaise professionally with branch managers and store personnel
• Manage van stock, spare parts, and supplier invoices
• Ensure PODs, receipts, and delivery documentation are correctly completed and returned
• Assist with transporting machines to the factory for repairs when required
