We are excited to announce an opening for a Technical Designer II to join our Asset Strategy / Industrial Practice. In this dynamic role, you will play a crucial part in creating essential project construction documentation while collaborating with our project team to ensure timely completion of various project phases. This position offers a hybrid work environment, requiring in-person participation and site visits.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist in outlining construction document requirements.
- Contribute to selection and specification processes.
- Create foundational details to document common architectural systems.
- Identify code requirements for architectural systems, life safety, and ADA compliance.
- Complete small construction document sets using established client standards and templates.
- Understand project budgets and schedules, adhering to designated parameters.
- Work independently on smaller projects while collaborating with supervision on larger projects.
- Support team members in field surveys as needed.
- Engage in the design process as directed.
- Conduct research on materials, products, and systems to compile project data.
- Assist in preparing construction documents and specifications.
- Order samples and create material boards.
- Update design documents and incorporate revisions as needed.
- Prepare Addenda and Bulletin documentation.
- Maintain and update project records and sets.
- Prepare drawings for digital transmittance to consultants, clients, and contractors.
- Log and assist with review of Shop Drawings.
- Review and correct your own work prior to assignment completion.
- Maintain and archive electronic project files.
- Provide administrative support such as making copies, scanning documents, and preparing shipping packages.
- Assist in project programming phases as directed.
- Support schematic phases, including sketching and modifying plan inputs.
Required Knowledge and Skills:
- Understanding of design techniques and processes for technical plans, blueprints, and models.
- Familiarity with design trends, construction methodologies, and material appropriateness.
- Knowledge of construction processes relevant to produced drawings.
- Awareness of building regulations, life safety codes, and ADA requirements.
- Comprehension of project budgets and schedules.
- Proficient in meeting deadlines while providing high-quality client service.
- Ability to sketch and hand-draw.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD/Architectural Desktop and Revit.
- Experienced with Deltek Vision / Vantagepoint.
- Basic knowledge of MS Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook; PowerPoint experience is a plus.
- Awareness of sustainability, integrated design, and LEED guidelines.
- Basic skills in graphic software such as Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign are preferred.
- Some proficiency in 3D modeling software such as 3D Studio Max and Viz 2006 is preferred.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Architectural Drafting, or a related field.
- 3+ years of relevant industry experience.
- Highly proficient in both Revit and AutoCAD.
- Familiarity with Photoshop and/or InDesign preferred.
- Deadline-oriented with strong attention to detail.
Compensation
National salary range: $60,000 - $85,000. Compensation includes bonuses and benefits. This may encompass a Long Term Incentive Plan, Short Term Incentive Plan, and Profit Sharing.
