As a Technical Editor, you use your specialized experience and attention to detail to review professional documents and intelligence products to give your client the actionable intelligence and context they need. If you have strong technical skills and a problem‑solving mindset, we have an opportunity to use those skills to support our warfighters and inform our nation's leaders.

Responsibilities

  • Review intelligence products for proper grammar, punctuation, and syntax, as well as for logic, clarity, and consistency.
  • Ensure style and format conform to agency publication standards and that language presentation is consistent with prescribed style guides and specialized vocabulary of subject‑matter fields.
  • Amend draft tables, tone boxes, and graphics to ensure the content supports and is consistent with the accompanying text.
  • Ensure proper classification markings in accordance with IC guidance.
  • Work with authors to revise products for narrative organization and negotiate further revisions as needed.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of the DIA Style Manual for Intelligence Production.
  • Knowledge of DNI or DIA sourcing requirements and Security Markings.
  • Ability to develop high‑quality deliverables tailored to senior policymakers or defense stakeholders, including complex written products and briefings.
  • TS/SCI clearance with a polygraph.
  • Bachelor's degree and 3+ years of experience as a technical editor in the IC, or 7+ years of experience as a technical editor in the IC in lieu of a degree.

Nice to Have

  • Experience editing DIA products.
  • Experience editing technical cyber‑related materials.

Clearance

Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; TS/SCI clearance with polygraph is required.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Projected compensation range: $62,000 – $141,000 (annualized USD).
