Technical Lead

At Chickpea, we’re redefining video production, combining AI and storytelling to deliver hyper-personalised content at scale.

We’re looking for a hands-on Technical Lead to drive our platform forward, someone who can architect, build, and scale while leading from the front.

What You’ll Do

• Lead the design, development, and scaling of our AI-powered video platform
• Stay hands-on with code (PHP/Laravel, Python, JavaScript frameworks)
• Build and optimise systems across cloud infrastructure (AWS/GCP)
• Drive best practices in scalability, security, and performance
• Mentor and guide a small, high-performing engineering team
• Work closely with product, creative, and leadership teams
• Engage with clients on integrations and technical solutions

What We’re Looking For

• Strong experience as a Technical Lead / Senior Engineer in a fast-paced environment
• Solid backend experience (PHP/Laravel) and modern JS frameworks (Vue/React)
• Exposure to AI/ML, LLMs, or generative AI is a strong advantage
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS/GCP) and containerisation
• Ability to balance hands-on delivery with team leadership
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills
