POSITION INFO:
Responsibilities:
Quality & Compliance:
Oversee production quality and performance with target for improvement by effective communication and problem solving to production manager and production team as a whole.
Process & Plant Improvement
Lead continuous improvement projects for plant processes and infrastructure.
Support and mentor technical/bioprocess engineers and process engineers in applying theory and practical improvements.
Drive a culture of continuous improvement within production and design teams.
Communication & Collaboration
Communication between production manager and production team for better quality/output and improvements.
Maintain open and collaborative communication with Production, Technical, Engineering, Projects, Distribution, and Sales.
Provide technical advice and solutions to the Production Manager.
Notify BSBU and CBU of potential changes/issues related to raw materials or processes.
Facilitate sourcing and transfer of technical knowledge across the company.
Interaction and Communication within the company’s business units for development of stronger relationships.
Staff development
Mentor and coach team members, including Lab Manager, Process Engineer, and Technical Engineer.
Reporting & Administration
Ensure all technical projects are captured within the Tempo.
Prepare reports on quality overview, process project outcomes, and improvement benefits.
Uphold LEMS, QC systems, and implement new improvement targets.
Requirements:
Education: B.Sc + M.Sc in Microbiology / Biochemistry.
Experience: At least 5 years of process and quality experience within food production environments.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in MS Office, Tempo, DMS, Syspro, Opsuite.
Knowledge: Strong understanding of plant processes and quality systems.
Additional: Ability to make critical decisions regarding process integrity, product release, and implementation of improvement projects.
