MacDonald Search Group is a national permanent placement recruiting firm and we recruit on behalf of hiring companies.
Our client is an established distributor in Ontario of industrial equipment and they are on the hunt to find a Technical Outside Sales Representative to take over an established book of business and manage and grow their existing customer base in the GTA. The territory includes Toronto to Burlington to Huntsville to Belleville.
This is a field sales position requiring a skill set in both account management of an established customer base within municipal, industrial, and HVAC markets plus business development to grow strong net new relationships.

Responsibilities
- Prepare technical quotations, proposals, and contracts for valves and related equipment solutions
- Manage the full sales cycle including prospecting, presentations, negotiations, and project follow-up
- Collaborate with internal teams to track opportunities, manage CRM activity, and support project execution
Requirements
- 3-5+ years of outside technical sales experience dealing with industrial products is mandatory
- Strong understanding of valves or process control equipment preferred; or related mechanical equipment/industrial products
- Post-secondary education in a technical, engineering, or skilled trades discipline preferred but not mandatory if strong industry experience
- Experience selling into municipal, HVAC, or industrial sectors
- Ability to read mechanical drawings and perform equipment take‑offs
- Proven relationship‑building skills with a strong customer‑first approach
Compensation
- Base salary ~80‑95K (based on experience)
- Mileage reimbursement (must have your own vehicle)
- Cell phone & home office expense reimbursement
