Professional Staffing Services Group

Orlando · Hybrid Contract $66 – $70/hr 3d ago

About the role

Role Summary

As a Technical Project Manager, you are the driving force behind our digital product lifecycle. You aren't just a facilitator; you are a strategic executor who bridges the gap between high-level product vision and technical engineering reality. You will lead cross-functional PODs (Engineering, UX, and Product) to ensure the seamless delivery of high-quality features in the Digital Travel space.

This role is a high-impact hybrid of an Agile Champion and a Strategic Project Manager, responsible for navigating complex dependencies, managing financial forecasts, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

Core Responsibilities

Strategic Execution & Planning

  • Roadmap Translation: Transform product roadmaps into actionable sprint plans and clear delivery milestones.
  • Lifecycle Ownership: Own the end-to-end Planning Increment (PI) and Release Delivery lifecycle.
  • Dependency Mapping: Proactively identify and resolve cross-team dependencies and technical bottlenecks to keep the "path to production" clear.

Agile Leadership & Governance

  • Ceremony Mastery: Facilitate high-energy, high-value agile ceremonies (Daily Stand-ups, Sprint Planning, Reviews, and Retrospectives).
  • Backlog Health: Partner with Technical Product Managers (TPMs) to ensure the backlog meets the "Definition of Ready" before engineering intake.
  • Metrics That Matter: Track and socialize delivery health via velocity, burndown, throughput, and release cadence.

Engineering & Release Support

  • Tech Partnership: Collaborate with Tech Leads to balance feature delivery with technical debt, spikes, and enablers.
  • Production Readiness: Coordinate release planning, including pre-prod checklists, QA alignment, and rollback strategies.
  • Compliance & Documentation: Maintain rigorous Jira/Confluence documentation for auditability and traceability.

Financial & Operational Excellence

  • Portfolio Management: Manage project-level financials, including Capital (CAPEX) and Operational (OPEX) expense forecasting.
  • Change Management: Support organizational shifts and communicate delivery status/risks to Senior Leadership with clarity and poise.

Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Degree: Bachelor's degree preferred (or equivalent professional experience).
  • Experience: 3–5+ years in a Delivery Manager, Project Manager, or Scrum Master role within a software development environment.
  • Technical Literacy: 3+ years in an IT capacity with a functional understanding of applications, databases, and cloud connectivity.

Certifications & Tools

  • Agile: Scrum (CSM), SAFe (PO/PM), or equivalent experience.
  • Project Management: PMP or Lean Six Sigma (Green/Black Belt) is a significant plus.
  • Tech Stack: Mastery of Jira and Confluence is required. Experience with Clarity PPM, PowerBI, or Visio is preferred.

Core Competencies

  • Matrix Leadership: Proven ability to influence outcomes and resolve conflicts in a matrixed environment involving internal teams and external vendors.
  • Analytical Rigor: Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple competing priorities under tight deadlines.
  • Communication: Exceptional verbal and written skills, specifically the ability to translate technical risks into business impact for Senior Leadership.

Key Deliverables

  • Strategic Assets: PI Delivery Plans, Team Charters, and Risk/Dependency Logs.
  • Operational Assets: Optimized JIRA boards, Sprint Plans, and Status Reports.
  • Quality Assets: Release Notes, Quality Compliance Reports, and Post-Mortem Documentation.
