Technical Project Manager (Contract) – Mobile (iOS Focus)

Our start-up technology client in the sports industry is seeking a contract Technical Project Manager to support native mobile development, with a strong emphasis on iOS initiatives. This role plays a critical part in ensuring consistent, on-time delivery across Product and Engineering through disciplined release management, execution oversight and clear stakeholder communication. You’ll partner closely with Product, Engineering and Design to drive planning, manage dependencies, mitigate risks and maintain transparency around scope and timelines. This opportunity is ideal for someone who thrives in fast-paced environments and enjoys bringing structure and clarity to complex mobile programs. • Rate: $70.00/hour • Location: Union Square (on-site, 4x per week)

Responsibilities: • Lead coordination and execution of mobile product and engineering releases to ensure high-quality, on-time delivery • Plan and track initiatives, proactively identifying risks, dependencies and constraints • Facilitate Agile ceremonies including daily standups, sprint planning and retrospectives • Own release communications, clearly articulating timelines, scope changes and key updates • Provide concise, executive-ready status reporting to stakeholders and leadership • Support launch planning, sequencing and release readiness activities • Guide teams in navigating trade-offs between scope, speed and quality • Promote transparency and delivery efficiency without adding unnecessary process overhead • Continuously improve release management and delivery practices

Required Qualifications: • Proven experience as a Project Manager, Delivery Manager or Program Manager within a software-driven organization • Recent start-up industry experience or background working in fast-paced, scaling environments • Strong understanding of mobile application development lifecycles, including App Store submission processes • Demonstrated ability to manage complex releases and unblock teams effectively • Confidence presenting delivery updates to leadership and cross-functional audiences • Excellent organizational and prioritization skills, with the ability to manage multiple concurrent initiatives • Ability to operate independently, navigate ambiguity, and create clarity without heavy oversight
