Technical Project Manager – Data & Analytics (Microsoft Stack)

One of our premier clients is seeking a senior, highly experienced Technical Project Manager to lead a large-scale Data & Analytics implementation within a Microsoft technology environment. This role requires a strong leader with proven expertise managing enterprise data initiatives across Power BI, Azure, and Microsoft Fabric platforms.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience coordinating cross-functional technical and business teams, driving complex project delivery from planning through release, and ensuring successful execution in fast-paced enterprise environments. This position requires the consultant to work on-site 4 days per week in Northern Virginia.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead enterprise-level Data & Analytics implementation projects utilizing Microsoft technologies including Power BI, Azure, and Microsoft Fabric
• Manage full project lifecycle delivery from project initiation, planning, execution, testing, deployment, and release management
• Coordinate and collaborate across multiple teams including Development, QA, UAT, Analytics, Infrastructure, and Business Stakeholders
• Drive project accountability, track deliverables, manage timelines, and ensure programs remain on schedule
• Create, manage, and monitor project plans, milestones, dependencies, releases, and deliverables
• Facilitate Agile ceremonies including stand-ups, sprint planning, sprint tracking, and release coordination
• Create, track, and manage Jira tickets, workflows, and sprint mapping activities
• Identify, manage, and escalate project risks, issues, blockers, and dependencies
• Utilize Microsoft Project and Jira extensively for project governance, reporting, and execution tracking
• Support implementation and delivery of enterprise DataMart and Data Warehouse solutions
• Ensure effective communication between technical teams and business leadership throughout the project lifecycle

Required Skills & Experience

• Proven leadership experience managing Microsoft-based Data & Analytics implementations
• Strong expertise with: Power BI, Microsoft Azure, Microsoft Fabric
• Expert-level experience using Microsoft Project and Jira for enterprise project delivery
• Hands-on experience managing tickets, sprint boards, dependencies, milestones, releases, and workflows
• Strong Agile/Scrum project management experience including sprint execution and stand-up facilitation
• Experience managing complex enterprise programs involving multiple stakeholders and cross-functional teams
• Demonstrated ability to drive accountability, resolve issues, mitigate risks, and maintain delivery timelines
• Experience implementing enterprise DataMart and Data Warehouse solutions
• Excellent communication, coordination, and stakeholder management skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working within large enterprise or highly matrixed environments
• Strong understanding of modern data architecture and analytics platforms
• Ability to manage multiple concurrent workstreams and priorities effectively
