Technical Project Manager

Stryker Corporation

Hybrid Full-time Mid Level Today

About the role

Your Tasks

At Sono Motors, we are a small, highly motivated team with the mission to bring solar technology into the mobility industry. As a Technical Project Manager, you will take responsibility for the system integration of our solar solutions into customer vehicles and manage the technical implementation of our projects – from the concept phase to successful vehicle integration. At the interface of engineering, project management, and customer work, you will play a central role in bringing solar-powered mobility solutions to the road.

In this role, you will undertake the following tasks:

  • You are responsible for system engineering and integration of our solar solutions into customer vehicles (e.g. cooling trailers, vans, trucks, buses), defining system architectures and coordinating cross-functional engineering activities.
  • You manage the technical implementation and delivery of customer projects, ensuring that both pilot and series solutions meet technical, operational, and commercial requirements.
  • You are the main technical point of contact for OEM and fleet customers and support them throughout the entire project lifecycle.
  • Participation in the development of new solar products, e.g. through feasibility studies, concept development and requirements engineering, as well as the integration of central system components such as PV modules, charge controllers and telematics systems.
  • You develop circuit diagrams and system topologies and perform D-FMEA analyses to identify and minimize technical risks.
  • Definition and implementation of validation and test strategies to ensure the performance and reliability of our systems.

Senior Level (optional)

For candidates with extensive experience, the role can be expanded to a Senior Technical Project Manager with additional responsibilities, including:

  • You drive technical coordination and standardization across multiple parallel projects or product lines.
  • Identification of technical and commercial opportunities and initiation of projects that align with the company's strategic goals.
  • Management of technical communication and expectation alignment at executive level (internal and external).
  • Support of knowledge transfer and mentoring within the project and engineering teams.

Our Requirements

  • Completed degree (Bachelor, Master or Diploma) in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering or a similar field.
  • At least 5 years of professional experience in technical project management, system integration or as a development engineer (8+ years for a senior role).
  • Broad technical understanding in system engineering and electrical systems, ideally in the automotive or commercial vehicle sector; experience with high-voltage systems (HV2) is an advantage.
  • Basic knowledge of photovoltaic systems is a plus.
  • You have a hands-on mentality and enjoy working on test benches and directly on the vehicle.
  • Experience in managing technical projects, including scheduling, risk management, and budget control.
  • You are willing to travel to customers and project sites.
  • Enthusiasm for sustainable technologies and the mobility transition.
  • Fluent English skills required – German skills are an advantage.

What awaits you

  • Become part of a visionary, highly motivated team in a young company with a clear mission – We pioneer solar mobility.
  • Shape things from the beginning – instead of rigid hierarchies, you can expect freedom, responsibility, and the opportunity to make a real difference.
  • Flexible working hours, hybrid working and benefits that suit you – from a public transport subsidy to an Urban Sports Club membership and more.
  • A team culture based on trust, support, and honest feedback – we celebrate successes and learn from our experiences together.
  • An open office with a workshop in the north of Munich – easily accessible by bike or public transport and with free e-charging facilities on site.
