Position Overview
The Technical Project Manager will support client through a large‑scale data center migration of distributed infrastructure and applications to AWS and Azure public cloud . This role focuses on planning, coordinating, and executing workstreams while collaborating closely with a team of 3–4 project managers, technical leads, and client stakeholders.
This position requires hands‑on technical understanding, strong coordination skills, and the ability to work in a MSP environment.
Experience & Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in Project management including experience in managing technical infrastructure/Data center Infrastructure migration AND MIGRATION to CLOUD
- Strong understanding of MIGRATION of enterprise infrastructure and Application components: Windows /Linux Servers, Active Directory, Citrix, Networking and connectivity DNS, NTP, virtualization platforms, and AWS or AZURE cloud
- Previous work within OR dealt with a IT outsourcing or Managed Services Provider (MSP) or colocation / hosting environment
- Excellent communication skills with ability to present at the senior management level.
- Strong proficiency in risk management, change management, and structured delivery frameworks.
- Understanding of ITIL and ITSM principles would be needed; Tools - SmartSheet, Jira
- PMP or equivalent project certification - Nice to have
- AWS or Azure certifications - nice to have
Key Responsibilities
- Lead technical project planning, scheduling, RAID tracking, and delivery execution for data center migration and cloud modernization efforts.
- Coordinate activities across INFRASTRUCTURE (Compute, storage, networking, VMware) AND APPLICATIONS and AWS Cloud Migration engineering teams.
- Support governance, reporting cadence, and integration across multiple PMs and technical leads.
- Manage scope, risks, dependencies, change control, and documentation in a MSP environment within the structured PMO
- Ensure adherence to project management best practices, change management processes, and delivery methodologies.
- Provide clear, executive-level status reporting to both client leadership and internal management.
- Drive cross-functional collaboration with architects, operations, security, and external vendors.
- Ensure audit-ready project documentation and compliance with government sector requirements.
Compensation & Benefits
The anticipated hourly rate range for this position is ($70.00-100.00), during the contract period. Actual hourly rate will be based on a variety of factors including relevant experience, knowledge, skills and other factors permitted by law. A range of medical, dental, retirement and/or other benefits are available after a waiting period.
