About the role
Job Summary
This position encompasses the ability to assemble clear and concise due diligence reports detailing property inspections/assessments of multifamily apartments and health care facilities – property condition reports. The due diligence reports will describe findings, conclusions, and recommendations, including the property's overall condition, any immediate repairs needed, and future needs. Additionally, the report will include estimated costs for required repairs and a replacement reserve schedule indicating future costs over the study period. The Technical Report Writer will generate these written reports based on the information and documentation provided by the Property Inspector. This will include reviewing data and photos of the subject property collected during the property inspections/assessments to create a property condition report. The candidate can be located in Denver, CO; Midlothian, VA; or remotely.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Coordinate and communicate with the Project Manager and Team Leaders to complete all assigned reporting.
- Analyze the provided inspection data and property information to gain a detailed understanding of the existing property needs and conditions.
- Complete the assigned due diligence reporting, prioritizing projects based on deadlines.
- Write, revise, and update new and existing reports.
- Assembly-related appendices and photo logs for draft and final reports.
- Collaborate with the Project Manager to provide feedback for subcontractor inspectors.
- Data entry for various software platforms, including Microsoft Office products.
- Contribute to testing and improvement of D3G internal report writing software.
- Perform other duties as requested or assigned. Which may include property.
Working Conditions
Work is primarily in an indoor office environment. Some travel may be required.

The position requires sitting at a computer for long periods.

Requirements
Qualifications
- College degree or associate’s degree/high school diploma.
- Strong technical computer skills (proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel, Word, and Outlook).
- Ability to learn and adapt to new computer programs and changes in the industry, including proprietary software.
- Analytical thinker with the ability to evaluate data, information, and photos carefully and solve project-related problems.
- High level of attention to detail and commitment to excellence.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and communicate effectively with team members.
- Strong organizational skills, ability to work independently, and willingness to learn.
- Ability to prioritize assigned tasks and multitask with multiple projects and field staff.
Preferred Skills
- Ability to read and understand construction documents.
- 1 to 2 years of construction-related Project Estimating experience.
- Ability to multitask and work in an environment with project deadlines.
- Ability to work independently, as directed by immediate supervisor(s).
- Ability to interpret, understand, and explain complex data and other information.
Desired Skills
- Technical Writing experience
- Prior knowledge of estimating and/or reporting software such as RSMeans, Xactimate, and Parcel
