About the role

JOB PURPOSE

To play a fundamental role in achieving our ambitious customer acquisition and revenue growth objectives.

Subject always to instructions from your manager, you will be required to perform and / or assist in some or all of:

Selling

  • Achieve monthly targets as jointly agreed by management
  • To Physically call existing and potentially new clients ascertaining their needs and requirements
  • Generate sales and record the order details or receive the order on an official order form
  • Be able to advise and recommend to customers the company product
  • Do related selling in suggesting alternatives
  • Promote and sell new products and inform customers of specials

Planning

  • Handle pricing in terms of customers category and managers instructions
  • Before generating the order check the customer’s credit worthiness
  • Urgent orders must be telephoned through to the branch while others must be generated through the normal procedures
  • Once the sale has been generated on the computer system ensure that the relevant copies are given to the correct departments for processing as per branch procedures

Customer service

  • Service major accounts by giving them preferential treatment
  • Telephonically keep in contact with clients if restricted to the branch premises for whatever reason
  • Assist with urgent deliveries when requested by management
  • Ensure that all samples and goods delivered by yourself is always accompanied by official documentation

Sales meeting

  • Attend weekly sales meetings

Tenders

  • Hand in tenders and attend tender openings
  • Report back to management regarding the tender as soon as possible
  • Complete tender documents where necessary by obtaining best prices and with managers authorization

Housekeeping

  • The warehouse including the shelves and floor must be kept clean

Security

  • Ensure that security regulations are adhered to at all times

General

  • Assist management with additional duties that are fair and reasonable
  • Feedback to area managers
  • Expediting of priority orders
  • Ensuring brochure stands are full
  • Keep displays neat and tidy
  • Assist with stock take when required
