Technical Project Manager (Contract / Consulting)

EDI Staffing, an EDI Specialists Company

Philadelphia · On-site Contract Senior Today

About the role

About the Role

Senior Technical Project Manager partnering with cross-functional teams to deliver complex OS initiatives end to end. You'll help teams stay aligned and on track by improving forecasting and sequencing, and by driving disciplined planning and execution—especially for launches and UAT. This is a hands-on, embedded role where you serve as the primary point of coordination—bringing together Product, Technology, and Business partners to plan, forecast, and execute work effectively.

You won't replace delivery teams—you'll enable them by ensuring work is clearly planned, properly sequenced, and smoothly executed across groups.

What You'll Do

These four focus areas represent the core responsibilities for this engagement. If priorities shift, we'll align on scope and expectations with the successful candidate up front.

  1. Reduce Business Stakeholder Time Burden

    • Streamline collaboration by helping Business and Product partners stay focused on key decisions and milestones.
    • Own coordination, follow-ups, and execution tracking so senior stakeholders don't have to manage day-to-day delivery details.
    • Reduce churn by clarifying requirements early and keeping teams aligned—minimizing rework mid-execution.
  2. Forecasting, Staffing & Advance Investment Planning (Launches and UAT)

    • Build forward-looking plans for OS delivery, launches, and UAT—mapping timing, roles, dependencies, and expected effort well in advance.
    • Spot capacity gaps early and translate them into clear resourcing options (e.g., hiring, backfill, contractor support).
    • Provide leaders with the visibility needed to make timely staffing and investment decisions.
  3. Sequencing & Execution Management Across Teams

    • Coordinate sequencing across Product, Technology, and Business teams so work lands in the right order at the right time.
    • Actively manage timelines, dependencies, and prerequisites, and keep plans current as conditions change.
    • Proactively surface risks and blockers, and drive practical mitigation plans with owners and dates.
  4. Business Case & Enterprise Decision Support (Secondary Scope)

    • Support select enterprise decision efforts (e.g., cross-functional business cases for systems such as timesheets) when needed.
    • Provide the coordination and structure required to keep these efforts moving forward and unblocked.

What You'll Bring

  • Strong experience leading UAT planning and execution end to end (test planning, coordination, defect triage, go/no-go readiness, and stakeholder communication).
  • 8–12+ years of professional experience, including 5–8+ years leading complex technology or product initiatives.
  • Hands-on experience managing projects that support application development, technology platforms, or software-enabled initiatives (e.g., internal platforms, workflow tools, data-driven applications, enterprise systems, or custom-built tools).
  • Working knowledge of software development lifecycles (e.g., Agile delivery, iterative development, release planning).
  • Demonstrated ability to operate effectively at the intersection of Product, Engineering/Development, and Business stakeholders.
  • Experience supporting application delivery, releases, and UAT planning/execution (including coordination across Product, Engineering, and Business teams).
  • Proven ability to forecast work, manage capacity, and sequence delivery across multiple teams.
  • Strong experience building and managing project plans using common PM tools.
  • Clear, proactive communicator with strong end-to-end execution ownership.
  • Comfortable operating as an embedded contractor/consultant and building trust quickly with new teams.
