Global Scanning is a market leader in 2D and 3D scanning technology. Through our brands Contex and Colortrac, we provide large-format scanning solutions for CAD, GIS, reprographics, and document archiving.
The Position
As a Technical Support Engineer, you will be part of a global support team providing technical assistance to our distributors, who in turn support end customers. You will troubleshoot complex issues, guide service technicians, and contribute to continuous product improvement.
Your day-to-day responsibilities include:
- Guiding service technicians through troubleshooting and repair processes
- Supporting distributors with product knowledge and solution development
- Testing scanners and software to deepen technical expertise
- Collaborating with R&D in Denmark on product improvements
- Occasionally traveling for on-site support and training
You will primarily work from our Chantilly, VA office while collaborating closely with global team members.
Qualifications
- Strong technical background with hands-on problem-solving experience
- Ability to understand and troubleshoot complex systems
- Excellent communication skills and customer-oriented mindset
- Organized and able to work independently
Preferred skills:
- Experience with electronics, sensors, embedded systems, or mechanics
- Knowledge of IT infrastructure and networking
- Familiarity with Windows systems and file structures
- Basic programming knowledge (a plus)
- Experience with digital imaging or tools like Photoshop
- Hands-on experience with mechanical or electrical repairs
