Since 1991, Alfamation has been a leading provider of test solutions and tools for the electronics, automotive, microelectronics, and optoelectronics sectors. As of 2024, Alfamation joined the electronics division of inTEST Corporation, a publicly traded multinational group based in New Jersey.
In a highly innovative technological environment, we design and develop customized test solutions, supporting our clients from initial requirement definition through to after-sales service. We are currently seeking a Technical Writer for our headquarters in Lissone (MB).
Reporting to the Machine Design Manager, the Technical Writer is responsible for drafting, managing, and maintaining technical documentation for ATE (Automatic Test Equipment) systems and company-developed products. The successful candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams (R&D, Engineering, Production, Quality, and Service) to ensure that documentation is clear, accurate, up-to-date, and compliant with both corporate and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Documentation Management: Draft and maintain technical documentation for ATE systems and products, including:
- User and operating manuals.
- Installation and maintenance manuals.
- Technical and functional specifications.
- Testing and commissioning procedures.
- Service and troubleshooting documentation.
- Technical Translation: Interpret and translate complex technical content (HW, SW, FW, mechanics, testing) into clear, structured documentation.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Partner with R&D, Engineering, Production, Quality, and Service teams to gather and validate technical information.
- Compliance & Standards: Ensure documentation follows corporate guidelines and complies with quality standards and applicable regulations (e.g., ISO).
- Process Improvement: Contribute to defining and improving internal technical documentation standards.
- Support: Provide the Service, Application, and Customer Support departments with accessible, updated documentation.
- Localization: Translate or adapt technical content between English and Italian; coordinate with external vendors for translations into other target languages.
Requirements
- Education: Diploma in Electronics, Electrotechnics, Mechanics, or equivalent technical background.
- Experience: 3–5 years of experience as a Technical Writer within the industrial, electronics, or automation sectors.
- Technical Knowledge: Proven ability to understand ATE (Automatic Test Equipment) or automated test systems.
- Languages: Good command of written and spoken English.
- Writing Skills: Exceptional technical writing skills with clarity of exposition and high attention to detail.
- Software Proficiency: Strong knowledge of MS Office, Visio, and Draw.io.
- Preferred Skills: Experience with MadCap Flare or other documentation tools (e.g., Doxygen) is a significant plus.
