About
As a Technical Writer, you will develop, maintain, and continuously improve manufacturing and technical documentation supporting EPC Power’s engineering, production, and supplier operations. This role works closely with engineers, product managers, suppliers, and manufacturing teams to translate complex technical information into clear, accurate, and standardized documentation used across production, installation, and service environments.
This position requires a detail-oriented, organized, and collaborative individual with strong written communication skills and the ability to quickly understand technical systems and processes. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong aptitude for documentation standardization, usability, and continuous improvement within a manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
- Produce and maintain high-quality documentation, including manufacturer work instructions, installation and assembly guides, and equipment SOP and maintenance documentation
- Author and manage documentation within EPC Power’s Manufacturing Execution System (MES – PICO) and related systems
- Collaborate with engineers, product managers, and suppliers to gather detailed technical information, product specifications, and process knowledge
- Review engineering drawings, specifications, and change documentation to ensure technical accuracy and alignment
- Translate complex technical concepts and terminology into clear, concise, and actionable documentation for diverse audiences
- Revise and update existing documentation to reflect product changes, process updates, new features, and user feedback
- Adhere to and support the maintenance of internal documentation standards and style guides, ensuring consistency in terminology, tone, and formatting
- Create or incorporate diagrams, flowcharts, screenshots, and other visual aids to improve usability and comprehension
- Analyze existing documentation for reuse, modularization, and single-sourcing opportunities
- Support usability reviews or testing efforts to improve documentation effectiveness
- Perform other related duties as assigned by management
Required Qualifications
- 2–5+ years of technical writing experience, preferably in an engineering or manufacturing environment
- Bachelor’s degree in Technical Writing, English, Communications, Computer Science, or a related field
- Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills with strong attention to detail
- Ability to quickly understand and document complex technical systems and terminology
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple documentation deliverables
- Familiarity working within Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) environments
- Experience reviewing and interpreting technical drawings, specifications, and structured technical data
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams
- Ability to work independently and adapt in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting manufacturing, industrial, or hardware-based documentation
- Familiarity with structured authoring, modular documentation, or single-source content strategies
- Experience creating visual technical documentation assets (diagrams, process flows, visual work instructions)
