We are recruiting on behalf of a growing North American manufacturing organization that designs and builds specialized industrial equipment. They are adding a Technical Writer to support Engineering and Production by developing clear, accurate, and user-friendly technical documentation.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys translating complex manufacturing processes into practical, easy-to-follow work instructions and standard operating procedures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain SOPs and work instructions to support consistent, high-quality production
  • Work closely with engineers, production leaders, and subject matter experts to document assembly and installation processes
  • Create instructional content using photos, visuals, drawings, and written workflows
  • Ensure documentation aligns with engineering drawings, quality standards, and safety requirements
  • Maintain strict document control, formatting, and version management standards
  • Support training and continuous improvement by monitoring SOP usage and effectiveness

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline or a Technical Writing diploma (considered an asset)
  • Experience creating SOPs, work instructions, or technical documentation, ideally in a manufacturing or quality-driven environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to simplify complex processes
  • High attention to detail and a strong commitment to quality and consistency
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office ; experience with Teams, SharePoint, or ERP systems is an asset
  • Comfortable working in both office and production/shop environments
