Key Skills and Attributes

  • Communication and Language Proficiency: Excellent command of the English language, including grammar and vocabulary, is essential. Experience with Simplified Technical English (STE) is an advantage.

  • Technical and Software Skills: Good working knowledge of Word, Adobe Acrobat, and related image processing software such as PaintShop Pro, Photoshop and Illustrator. Experience with HTML coding and a good understanding of computers is also required.
  • Experience Level: A strong portfolio demonstrating your ability to create effective technical documentation. You will be expected to show examples of your work.
  • Industry Knowledge: Understanding of software development processes, familiarity with Agile methodologies and knowledge of industry-specific terminology and standards (e.g. ISO 9000 standards, SEMI standards, W3C HTML Standard, IEC 82079-1 ‘Preparation of Instructions for use’).

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5 years+ experience in technical writing
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred in a science-based subject
  • Certification in technical writing

Types of Documentation Produced

Create various forms of documentation, including user guides for software applications, Release Notes, reference and instruction manuals, training guides and context-sensitive HTML help integrated into software and operating guides.
