Technical Writer (Contract, Part-Time)

About the Role

You've spent time at a big tech company or a fast-moving startup. You know how to write about complex software without making it sound like a textbook.

Now you want something on the side that actually challenges you.

At Refold, we're building the AI layer that makes enterprise integrations go from months to days. The problem is real, the product is working, and we need someone who can help us tell that story - clearly, compellingly, and without the jargon.

This is a project-based, hourly engagement. You pick up work when it fits your schedule.

What You'll Do:

• Write long-form content: white papers, technical blogs, and thought leadership pieces aimed at VP-level buyers in enterprise SaaS
• Translate complex integration concepts (ERP connectors, field mapping, schema logic) into content that a non-technical executive actually wants to read
• Interview our engineers and PS team to pull out the real insights, then shape them into a clean narrative
• Take a rough brief or a messy doc dump and turn it into a polished final piece

What We're Looking For

• 2-3 years writing technical or product content - at a FANG company, a SaaS startup, or both
• Sharp eye for structure: you know the difference between a white paper that sells and one that sits in a drive unread
• Comfort with enterprise software concepts: integrations, APIs, ERP/CRM systems or the curiosity to get up to speed fast
• Clear, direct writing voice. No buzzwords, no bloat. If a sentence doesn't earn its place, you cut it.
• Good at working async with minimal handholding, you take a brief, ask the right questions, and deliver

Bonus Points

• Background in B2B SaaS, fintech, or supply chain
• Experience writing for a technical audience AND a business audience (you can do both)
• Have a portfolio of white papers or long-form pieces you're proud of

Compensation

Competitive hourly rate, project basis.
