Ametris is seeking a Technical Writer to join the Product organization and play a critical role in shaping how our products are understood, adopted, and used. This role partners closely with Product, Engineering, Science, Marketing, Operations and other customer‑facing teams to create high‑quality documentation that scales with our platform and supports both internal and external audiences.
Responsibilities
Product & Customer Documentation
- Author, edit, and maintain product documentation including:
- User guides and help‑center articles
- Feature and release documentation
- API and developer documentation (where applicable)
- In‑app help, tooltips, and contextual guidance
- Commercial and Ops enablement collateral
- Ensure documentation is accurate, up‑to‑date, and aligned with product behavior and roadmap changes.
Cross‑Functional Collaboration
- Partner closely with the CPO and technical team to understand product intent, user needs, and roadmap priorities.
- Collaborate with Engineering to ensure documentation complements product experiences and usability principles.
- Support the Support, Sales, and Operations teams with internal and external‑facing documentation as needed.
Content Strategy & Quality
- Establish and maintain documentation standards, style guides, and best practices.
- Advocate for documentation as a core part of product quality and customer experience.
- Continuously improve documentation based on user feedback, support trends, and product evolution.
- Help define what “done” means for documentation as part of product delivery.
Tooling & Process
- Manage documentation of workflows, tooling, and version control in partnership with Product and Engineering.
- Participate in sprint planning, product reviews, and release processes to stay aligned with development cycles.
- Identify opportunities to improve documentation efficiency, discoverability, and scalability.
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience as a Technical Writer, Product Writer, or similar role in a software or technology company.
- Strong ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly to diverse audiences.
- Experience working closely with Product Managers and Engineers in agile or product‑led environments.
- Excellent written communication skills with strong attention to detail and consistency.
- Comfort learning new technologies, systems, and domains quickly.
- Experience documenting SaaS platforms, APIs, data products, or developer tools.
- Familiarity with documentation tools such as Confluence, Git‑based workflows, CMS platforms, or help‑center software.
- Understanding of UX writing principles and user‑centered documentation design.
- Experience supporting both external customer documentation and internal technical documentation.
