Are you looking for a challenging and rewarding career opportunity? We are currently seeking a highly motivated and qualified Technical Writer (m/f/d) to join our client’s team in the canton of Solothurn.

This is a permanent position with an 80% workload, offering the possibility of up to 2 days of home office per week.

Responsibilities

• Creating product documentation
• Writing manuals, instructions, and guides
• Working with engineers, product managers, and other stakeholders to gather technical information
• Applying structured writing methodologies (functional design, information modeling)
• Ensuring compliance with legal requirements, standards, and industry guidelines
• Creating and adapting technical illustrations using tools such as Adobe Creative Cloud
• Developing and maintaining multilingual documentation (primarily English and German)
• Updating and maintaining existing documentation based on product changes
• Ensuring consistency, quality, and reusability of documentation content
• Supporting translation and localization processes
• Continuously improving documentation processes and optimizing content reuse
• Building an understanding of products (e.g. coffee machines) and translating this into clear user documentation

Qualifications

• BA degree in Technical Writing or a technical vocational qualification with further training in this field
• Professional experience in technical documentation
• Good theoretical knowledge of methodologies in technical documentation (functional design, information modeling)
• Knowledge of relevant legal regulations and their implementation through standards
• Solid knowledge of the authoring system Schema ST4
• Very good knowledge of Microsoft Office
• Good knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud
• Experience and knowledge in creating technical illustrations (graphic formats and their application)
• Analytical, detail-oriented, and team-oriented working style
• Excellent written English skills with a strong sense of style and accuracy; fluent German (spoken and written). (English will become the future documentation language.)
• Good knowledge of French/Spanish is an advantage

Preferred Qualifications

• Industry experience in one or more of the following areas: Mechanical engineering, Industrial manufacturing, Electronics / consumer appliances. Medtech or automotive
