We are therefore looking to fill the position of Technical Writer (m/f/d) remotely at our locations in Heimertingen, Gilching, Koblenz, or Berlin.
Your Knowledge / Experience
- Completed degree or vocational training in Technical Writing, Technical Communication, Media Informatics, Information Design, IT, Engineering, or a comparable qualification
- Several years of professional experience as a Technical Writer or in a comparable position, ideally in a software or IT-related environment
- Sound experience with component-based authoring tools; knowledge of MadCap Flare is desirable
- Very good editorial skills (structuring, proofreading, consistency checking, tonality)
- Experience with graphics and illustration tools (e.g., Snagit, Photoshop, Affinity, or comparable tools)
- Confident handling of common collaboration and documentation tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence)
- Excellent German and very good English skills, both written and spoken
- Structured, independent, and deadline-oriented way of working, as well as strong communication and teamwork skills
- Experience with bilingual documentation and translation processes, as well as knowledge of safety-critical or technical domains (e.g., defense, critical infrastructure, networks) is an advantage
Due to our cooperation with customers in the critical infrastructure sector, a security check according to the German Security Screening Act (SÜG) may be required.
Your Tasks
- Creation, maintenance, and further development of technical product and system documentation for hardware and software products (e.g., manuals, admin guides, user guides, procedures, and conceptual content)
- Analysis of technical requirements and changes based on Jira tickets, specifications, UI changes, and test systems
- Close coordination with development, testing, and product management to clarify technical content and ensure technical accuracy
- Ensuring consistent, target-group-oriented, and understandable documentation for different user groups (administrators, operators, integrators)
- Maintenance, revision, and quality assurance of existing documentation, including terminology, tonality, and structure
- Interface and knowledge management between development, projects, support, training, and sales
- Support of internal specialist departments with documentation-related questions and special topics
- Contribution to the further development of documentation standards, templates, and processes
