The Role
We’re looking for a part‑time Technical Writer to help create and maintain documentation for our growing suite of developer tools. This is a flexible, remote position ideal for someone who wants work‑life balance while making a real impact on developer experience.
What You’ll Do
- Write clear, concise technical documentation for APIs and SDKs
- Create tutorials, guides, and code examples
- Maintain and update existing documentation
- Collaborate with engineers to understand features and workflows
- Review and edit contributions from engineering team members
- Organize and structure documentation for discoverability
- Gather feedback from users to improve documentation quality
Requirements
- 2‑4 years of technical writing experience
- Strong understanding of software development concepts
- Experience documenting APIs and developer tools
- Proficiency with Markdown and version control (Git)
- Ability to explain complex technical concepts simply
- Self‑motivated and able to work independently
Nice to Have
- Software development background or CS degree
- Experience with documentation tools (Docusaurus, GitBook, ReadMe)
- Familiarity with OpenAPI/Swagger specifications
- Understanding of REST APIs and GraphQL
- Experience writing code samples in multiple languages
Additional Details
- Hours: 20 hours per week (flexible schedule)
- Compensation: $40‑$50/hour CAD
- Remote: Work from anywhere in Canada
- Schedule: Flexible hours with core overlap 10am‑2pm PT
- Duration: Ongoing with potential to increase hours
