Technical Writer

Overview

This is an essential position for our team; looking to bring on a technical writer to document in a technical testing environment.

Responsibilities

• Provided lab engineers, Team Leads, and Branch Chiefs, with technical documentation.
• Analyzed and evaluated raw engineering data develop operator manuals and publications.
• Identify and describe complex concepts in a written form.
• Represent the company and maintain its performance levels within this position.
• Develop comprehensive documentation that meets organizational and mil standards.
• Maintain databases of technical information produced by the organizations technical staff.
• Work closely with team leads from a variety of labs, stakeholders, and senior organizational leadership.
• All other duties assigned.

Qualifications

• Must demonstrate a professional demeanor.
• Must be able to compile comprehensive engineering test reports and package them for distribution to Government and Industry stakeholders.
• Must be able to work well independently and in a team setting.
• Must posses strong communication skills both written and verbal.
• Must be a self‑starter, motivated to take minimal instruction and proceed to task completion.

Preferred Qualifications

• Training background in technical capabilities.
• Military background with exposures to military systems.
• Experienced working on a DOW contract as a Tech Writer.
• Technical experience.
• Sec+ cert.
• Top Secret clearance.

Clearance

• Must have a DoD secret clearance.

Education & Experience

• 3‑10 years’ of direct relatable experience as described under responsibilities.
• A Bachelor’s degree in Communications, or related field.
• A degree can be substituted with 4 years of direct relatable experience.

Location

• Aberdeen Proving Grounds, Maryland.
• Monday‑Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. Schedule flexing is available with the PM’s approval.

Travel

• Only upon need.
