Job Description
The potential employee will: • Develop, write, and maintain detailed technical documents, including user manuals, installation guides, FAQs, and training materials. • Collaborate with Flight Operation Directorate, product managers, subject matter experts, and Spacecraft Vendors to gather accurate information and translate it into clear documentation. • Work within internal lab tools and databases to automate the generation of spacecraft display imagery for crew display user guides • Edit and proofread all content meticulously to ensure clarity, consistency, and correctness. • Edit, proofread, and author electronic crew procedures • Document and test bugs found on crew displays • Review feedback from users and team members to continuously improve documentation quality. • Coordinate with software vendors and contractors to request new features • Verify vendor features and bug fixes on new builds • Test and Evaluate software fixes • Provide feedback on software toolchains and processes to simplify and version control software product development • Self-direct to discover and prioritize tasks that empower other developers • Perform other duties as required • Document and provide feedback on crew lessons utilizing crew displays • Document both hardware assemblies and software user guides
Required Qualifications • One (1) year of related experience or relevant course work. Progressive relevant training and/or certification may be substituted for a portion of the experience requirement • Familiarity with Linux, Python, XML, SQL, and Build tools • Familiarity with Gitlab and CI/CD tools • Experience in software/hardware integration and life cycle testing • Ability to work independently and solve ambiguous, complex technical problems • Ability to work in a team to come up with optimal schedule and implementation of tools to meet the needs of NASA Artemis programs • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tool suite
Essential Requirements • Candidate must be able to satisfy all client(NASA)-imposed eligibility requirements, including those related to work authorization and access to government systems • This position will require regular attendance in accordance with established work schedule • This position might require the applicant to work outside a normal schedule. The employee must be able to adjust schedule to meet peak periods and surge requirements when required • They may be subject to government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information • The work may involve sitting for extended periods of time • The work may require lifting and carrying up to 35 pounds • Must have sufficient mobility to enter areas of test facilities with reasonable accommodation • Must be able to work in a team atmosphere • Must put forward professional behavior that enhances productivity and promotes teamwork and cooperation • Their grooming and attire must be appropriate for the position and must not impose a safety risk/hazard to the employee or others • This position may require some commuting and traveling to other installations as needed
Job Type: Full-time • On site at NASA Johnson Space Center: Employee is required to reliably commute to work (Required) • This position would be in the “Rapid Prototyping Lab” in the Astronaut Office of Johnson Space Center • Applicant should plan to relocate before starting work (Required)
Required education: • Bachelor's from an accredited college or university
Pay: $80,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
