About the role
About
This role is an Underwriter within the National Technology Middle Market underwriting team. The successful candidate will underwrite technology-focused risks across property, casualty, cyber, and errors & omissions lines, including the placement of cross-border business. This position is highly collaborative, working closely with a team to develop tailored solutions. A genuine curiosity and interest in underwriting unique risks will be an asset.
What can you expect in this role?
- Responsibility for growth and retention of an assigned book of renewal business.
- Assessing and quoting new business submissions, within assigned underwriting authority.
- Negotiating terms and conditions for risks with broker partners.
- Creating meaningful relationships and promoting the Technology vertical with internal partners.
- Developing strong relationships with broker partners, including broker visits, marketing calls, production meetings, etc.
- Become a trust resource for Technology brokers to build reputation and success in the marketplace.
- Mentoring and supporting fellow underwriters within the team.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
What do you bring to the role?
- University degree or college diploma
- Three to five years of relevant insurance or underwriting experience in P&C
- Experience in or willingness to learn about cyber and errors and omissions insurance
- Team player, adaptable to changes
- Strong sales acumen
- Strong problem‑solving skills
- Chartered Insurance Professional (CIP) or other insurance‑related designations considered an asset.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- French language skills considered an asset
Salary Range
$59,300-$109,200
