About the role
Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled TechOps Backend Developer with deep expertise in backend development, cloud infrastructure, and database systems. This role involves managing production systems, performing root cause analysis, and implementing scalable backend solutions across on‑premise and cloud environments. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in ensuring system reliability, performance, and seamless delivery of backend services while collaborating closely with Tech Leads and cross‑functional teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure product continuity by monitoring, identifying, and resolving production issues proactively
- Perform root cause analysis (RCA) and implement fixes to maintain system stability
- Design and build end‑to‑end backend solutions across on‑premise and AWS environments
- Analyze existing on‑prem systems and drive cloud migration strategies
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to cloud and on‑prem applications, including databases
- Work closely with Tech Leads to translate business requirements into technical solutions
- Develop, test, and deploy backend features following SDLC best practices
- Perform unit testing, functional testing, and ensure smooth production deployments
- Implement and optimize automation/orchestration workflows (e.g., Airflow)
- Continuously monitor and improve system performance, scalability, and reliability
- Stay updated with AWS services and emerging technologies
Required Skills & Expertise
Backend & Programming
- Strong expertise in Python for backend development
- Proficiency in Java and Bash scripting
- Experience building scalable microservices and APIs
Database Management
- Strong command over SQL, PL/SQL
- Hands‑on experience with PostgreSQL / Oracle databases
- Experience with AWS RDS (Postgres)
Cloud & DevOps
- Extensive experience with AWS services: EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS, Kinesis, IAM, API Gateway
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform)
- Strong knowledge of Docker and containerization
- Exposure to CI/CD tools (GitHub, GitLab, AWS CodePipeline)
Search & Data
- Experience with Elasticsearch or similar search platforms
- Knowledge of ETL pipelines and data workflows
System & Architecture
- Strong understanding of cloud architecture best practices
- On‑premise to cloud migration
- Distributed systems and system design
Preferred Qualifications
- AWS Certification (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect)
- Experience with Airflow or similar orchestration tools
- Familiarity with Kubernetes and networking concepts
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments
- Prior experience in leading teams or managing delivery across geographies
