Team Impact

Deep Sector is FactSet’s strategic effort to collect new content, enhance existing fundamentals coverage, and roll out advanced reports and functionality across nine verticals, including Telecom. Deep Sector data goes beyond public filings, providing granular, industry‑specific intelligence on public and private companies, assets, transactions, markets, news, and more.

Role Overview

Technology Data Analyst – Telecom (Deep Sector TMT team)

You will lead the evolution of FactSet’s Telecom data offering—maintaining and enhancing existing Telecom‑sector datasets, integrating new sources into client‑facing applications, data feeds, and APIs, and translating client workflows into best‑in‑class product features and workflow solutions. You will also build and lead a team to develop and execute a strategic roadmap for the Telecom sector offering.

Responsibilities

• Data Management: Participate directly and indirectly in extraction, cleaning, and transformation of large, complex datasets, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and timeliness.
• Data Validation: Use human‑in‑the‑loop curation and validation software to keep products aligned with changing standards and reporting requirements, delivering timely, accurate, and complete products.
• Client Engagement: Partner with sales/consulting, data providers, and clients to understand workflows, pain points, and feature requests; position our offering against current needs and competitor solutions.
• Requirement Definition: Translate qualitative and quantitative client insights into clear product requirements, specifications, and user stories.
• Cross‑Functional Collaboration: Work closely with engineering, QA, UX, other content developers, and specialized data teams to deliver value to clients.
• Presentation & Training: Develop and deliver compelling presentations and demos of FactSet’s Technology sector offerings—both in person and virtually—to internal stakeholders and external clients.
• Partnerships & Acquisition Opportunities: Monitor the competitive landscape for data partnership or acquisition opportunities to strengthen FactSet’s Technology offering.
• Team Development: Mentor and train team members in content collection, integration processes, product workflows, and best practices.
• Data Ownership: Identify opportunities for FactSet to own and operate data collection, reducing reliance on third‑party data spend.

Required Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Computer Science, Statistics, Engineering (Master’s preferred)
• 3–5 years of relevant experience, ideally within the Telecom or broader TMT sectors with a focus on Telecom
• Strong proficiency in data analysis, modeling, and visualization tools (e.g., Excel, Power BI/Tableau, SQL, Python) for extraction, transformation, analysis, and workflow automation
• Hands‑on experience preparing data for statistical and machine‑learning models
• Familiarity with distributed data systems and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Databricks, Snowflake)
• Experience building dashboards and data visualizations (Tableau, Power BI, or similar)
• Exceptional analytical, quantitative, and organizational skills; ability to synthesize complex data into clear insights
• Solid written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate data findings into actionable business narratives

Desired Skills

• CFA/CPA designation or capital markets experience (a plus)
