Our client, a leading telecommunications provider, is seeking a highly skilled Telecom Network Engineer to join their expanding team. This role operates on a hybrid model, requiring a blend of remote network monitoring and analysis, alongside on-site fieldwork for installations, maintenance, and troubleshooting. You will be instrumental in designing, implementing, and maintaining robust and reliable telecommunications networks, ensuring optimal performance and service availability. The ideal candidate possesses a deep understanding of network protocols, infrastructure, and cutting‑edge telecommunications technologies. You will play a crucial role in expanding network coverage and enhancing service quality across various regions.

Responsibilities

  • Designing, configuring, and deploying telecommunications network infrastructure (e.g., mobile, fixed-line, fiber optics).
  • Monitoring network performance, identifying potential issues, and implementing solutions to ensure high availability and reliability.
  • Troubleshooting and resolving network faults and performance degradations.
  • Collaborating with cross‑functional teams to plan and execute network upgrades and expansions.
  • Conducting site surveys and preparing reports for new installations.
  • Installing and testing network equipment, including routers, switches, and base stations.
  • Managing network documentation, including diagrams, configurations, and inventory.
  • Staying abreast of new technologies and industry best practices in telecommunications.
  • Providing technical support to internal teams and external customers.
  • Participating in on‑call rotations for network emergencies.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in telecommunications network engineering.
  • Solid understanding of networking protocols (TCP/IP, MPLS, BGP, OSPF).
  • Experience with cellular technologies (3G, 4G, 5G) and fiber optic networks is highly desirable.
  • Proficiency in network monitoring tools and diagnostic utilities.
  • Ability to install and troubleshoot network hardware.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Willingness to travel to various sites as needed for on‑site work.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a hybrid setting.

Location

This hybrid role requires the candidate to be located in or willing to relocate to the vicinity of Uyo, Akwa Ibom, NG, to effectively balance remote responsibilities with essential on‑site duties.
