Test Engineer - GCCS-J

Program Summary

GCCS-J is the DoD's Joint Command and Control system of record, delivering a fused, real-time operational picture to commanders and warfighters. The modernization effort focuses on cloud-native architecture, microservices, advanced data integration, and improved user experience aligned with JADC2 objectives. Testing is critical to ensuring system reliability, performance, and mission readiness across all capabilities.

Position Summary

The Test Engineer supports the development and modernization of GCCS-J by planning, executing, and automating tests to validate system functionality, performance, and quality. This role works across distributed systems, APIs, and user interfaces to ensure mission-critical software meets requirements and operates reliably within secure environments.

The engineer collaborates closely with developers, product owners, and system engineers in an Agile environment to support integration, identify defects, and drive continuous improvement in test processes and coverage.

Key Responsibilities

Test Planning & Design

• Contribute to test strategies, plans, and procedures
• Identify and develop test cases based on system requirements and new features

Test Execution & Validation

• Execute manual and automated tests across APIs, microservices, and UI components
• Validate system functionality, performance, and integration across multiple product areas

Test Automation & Regression

• Develop and maintain automated test scripts and frameworks
• Build and execute regression test suites to ensure stability of existing functionality

Agile Development Support

• Participate in Sprint ceremonies, including planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives
• Validate acceptance criteria and support iterative software delivery
