Test Engineer
Odonatum
About the role
Odonatum is a student club at TUM, working on the development of a flapping wing drone inspired by the natural flight mechanics of the dragonfly.
We currently have 29 members. If you are a student in Munich and currently motivated to work on a cutting-edge engineering challenge, ready to gain some practical experience, then we are searching exactly for you!
There are a number of different areas you could be working in:
Mechanics
Develop the heart of the mechanisms that make the wings of our drone flap.
Test Stand
Working on the design of a multi-axis test stand, which enables us to understand what is happening at every moment of a wing stroke.
Simulations
Help us understand what actually happens in the 1/30s of time while our wing goes through its full movement. What part will break first?
Cooperations
Get into the weeds of corporate sponsorship, represent our team at different events, and hold pitches in front of large companies. (We pitched to MTU recently)
PR and Events
Pour your soul into the management of one of our many social channels or help us enable one of our numerous events like our Christmas baking challenge or a DUNE marathon.
Infrastructure
Work on the backbones of our organization, build our website, create the right environment for cutting-edge research.
Joining Odonatum doesn't come with a specific time commitment; you decide how much you want to work. However, we do expect our members to complete tasks if they accept them. We also have the option of giving out Makerspace access to some of our members, though this comes coupled with the expectation for some additional work on the project.
If any of this seems like it would be something for you, then we are happy to get to know you and talk about your potential role at Odonatum!
