eCOGRA is seeking a dynamic, meticulous, hardworking Test Engineers with a strong technical acumen, to join our innovative Testing Laboratory environment in Cape Town. The candidate must have a strong ability to interpret technical requirements, work well under pressure and be deadline driven.
Duties & Responsibilities
System Testing & Validation
- Perform functional, compliance, and performance testing on gambling devices and systems.
- Apply relevant standards such as SANS 1718 and provincial and national acts, rules, regulations and requirements.
- Document and report test results, defects, and recommendations.
Technical Analysis
- Interpret technical specifications and regulatory requirements.
- Develop and execute test plans and scripts tailored to each product.
- Analyze system logs, data flows, and device behavior.
Regulatory Compliance
- Ensure all tested systems meet the requirements of the relevant Provincial and National Gambling Boards.
- Prepare Test reports and certification documentation
Client & Vendor Engagement
- Liaise with manufacturers, suppliers, and licensees to coordinate testing schedules.
- Provide technical feedback and support during pre-certification and post-deployment phases.
Project Management
- Manage multiple testing projects concurrently.
- Track progress against timelines and regulatory deadlines.
- Maintain detailed audit trails and version control of test artifacts.
Desired Experience & Qualification
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or Information Technology (or equivalent diploma).
- Minimum 2–4 years’ experience in hardware/software testing, preferably in the gambling industry or regulated technology sector.
- Previous experience in the Gambling industry as a Technician an advantage.
- Familiarity with C, C++, Java, .NET, and SQL is advantageous.
- ISTQB certification preferred.
- Strong analytical and documentation skills.
- Ability to work independently and under pressure.
- Valid driver’s license and passport; willingness to travel for on-site testing.
