Senior Test Specialist

Job Summary

The Senior Test Specialist supports test planning, coordination, execution, and documentation activities conducted in laboratory or field environments. The role is responsible for developing test plans and procedures aligned with program requirements and Department of Defense (DoD) policies. The Senior Test Specialist conducts testing activities, analyzes test data, documents issues and resolutions, and contributes to improvements in testing procedures and processes.

Essential Duties

• Plan, coordinate, execute, and document tests conducted in laboratory or field environments.
• Develop test plans and test procedures in accordance with DoD policies and instructions.
• Develop test plans and procedures that trace to program requirements.
• Conduct tests, demonstrations, and experiments requiring the selection, adaptation, setup, modification, and operation of a variety of test equipment.
• Document problems identified during testing and work toward their resolution while reporting progress to management.
• Analyze test data and provide recommendations for quality improvements.
• Perform workflow analysis to support testing activities and process improvements.
• Devise improvements to current testing procedures and develop models of possible future configurations.
• Prepare and deliver final test reports.

Experience

• Experience with Naval Surface Warfare Center / DoD Test and Evaluation support preferred.
• Seven (7) years of experience in test planning, coordination, execution, and documentation in laboratory or field environments.
• Demonstrated ability to create test plans and test procedures in accordance with DoD policies and instructions.
• Demonstrated ability to develop test plans and procedures that trace to program requirements.
• Experience conducting tests, demonstrations, and experiments requiring the selection, adaptation, setup, modification, and operation of a variety of test equipment.
• Experience documenting problems, supporting problem resolution, and reporting progress on problem resolution to management.
• Experience devising improvements to current procedures and developing models of possible future configurations.
• Experience performing workflow analysis, analyzing test data, recommending quality improvements, and creating final test reports.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Knowledge of test planning, coordination, execution, and documentation processes in laboratory or field environments.
• Knowledge of DoD policies and instructions related to test planning and procedures.
• Ability to develop test plans and procedures that trace to program requirements.
• Ability to operate and configure a variety of test equipment to support testing, demonstrations, and experiments.
• Ability to analyze test data and recommend quality improvements.
• Ability to perform workflow analysis and develop improvements to testing procedures.
• Ability to document issues and communicate progress on problem resolution to management.
• Ability to prepare comprehensive test reports.
• Experience with Test and Evaluation Master Plans (TEMPs) preferred.
