At TWK, we have been developing and producing customized sensors for plant and mechanical engineering in the growing market of measurement and automation technology for over 60 years. Functional safety for people and machines is our claim – superficial tests or a lack of statistical assurance do not do justice to this. That is why we value methodical and comprehensible test execution and are specifically developing this area further.

To strengthen our team at the Düsseldorf location, we are looking for you as a Specification and Test Engineer* as soon as possible, full-time.

Responsibilities

In many companies, testing is seen as an appendage to development, or people believe that AI can replace everything, instead of first identifying the right problems. It's different with us: You will be involved in product development at an early stage and will accompany the entire process – from specifications and requirements through tests and verification to certification. You will be responsible for the reliability and performance of our electromechanical components. You will coordinate closely with development engineers, refine specifications together, and incorporate your results directly into product decisions. Analytical, pragmatic, and on an equal footing – whoever sees a better solution, speaks up.

This is what your work looks like in concrete terms:

• Specification and maintenance of requirements, test cases, and test plans according to applicable standards and product requirements
• Execution of tests as well as analysis and documentation of results – for example, integration, functional, limit, error case, and climate tests
• Development of test setups and test automations to ensure efficient test processes
• Execution of hardware and software tests, especially unit or module tests

Qualifications

We are not looking for checklist fulfillers, but for people who want to take responsibility for quality and uncover real weaknesses with analytical thinking. If you recognize yourself here, you fit with us:

What you bring:

• Completed studies in electrical engineering, mechatronics, mechanical engineering, or a comparable technical qualification
• Confident handling of data sheets, circuit diagrams, and technical manuals
• Experience in the development and specification of tests for electromechanical components and systems
• Experience with common measuring and testing equipment such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, multimeters, and signal generators
• Basic experience in scripting or programming (e.g., Python, C, or comparable)
• Knowledge of embedded software, electrical circuits, and their integration

Advantageous:

• Experience with version control systems such as Git or SVN
• Knowledge of industrial fieldbus systems such as PROFINET, EtherCAT, BiSS, or CANopen
• Experience with tools in the development environment, e.g., Jira or Confluence
• Experience in the development and specification of tests for electromechanical components and systems
