Technical Writer

What You Ll Do

• Assess existing documentation (business requirements, Wiki) for gaps and inconsistencies
• Reorganize and standardize documentation into a clear, logical structure
• Translate system behavior and developer knowledge into clear, usable documentation
• Document core application workflows and expected system behavior
• Create developer-focused guides (how the system works, how to safely make changes)
• Support QA by documenting workflows and expected outcomes
• Improve clarity of technical and program artifacts (SOWs, architecture, testing)
• Establish documentation standards and templates
• Support onboarding and knowledge transfer for new staff

Must-Have Skills

• 3-6 years technical writing experience
• Experience working with existing, imperfect documentation
• Ability to structure and organize complex technical information
• Strong interviewing skills with engineers and technical staff
• Ability to work with incomplete or evolving requirements
• Clear, concise writing and documentation skills

Nice-to-Have

• Experience documenting web applications or LAMP environments
• Familiarity with developer wikis or knowledge bases
• Exposure to QA/testing documentation
• Ability to read code (PHP, JavaScript)
• Experience with diagramming tools (Visio, Lucidchart)
• Familiarity with modernization or migration projects
