A growing organisation operating within the vehicle tracking and telematics space is seeking a hands-on and highly organised individual to take ownership of its day-to-day operations. The business supports a wide range of tracked assets, including motorcycles, vehicles, agricultural equipment, and other movable assets, operating within a dynamic and fast-paced environment. This role combines operational management, systems administration, and customer engagement, requiring an individual who is comfortable working across both technical and administrative functions. The successful candidate will manage the tracking platform, coordinate installations, oversee stock and inventory, and act as a key point of contact for customers and internal teams. The position is suited to someone with a strong interest in technology and systems, who enjoys a varied role and taking ownership of processes. A critical component of the role includes managing stolen vehicle recovery operations and handling a 24-hour emergency response line. This requires a dependable and responsible individual who is comfortable being on-call, including after hours, and capable of managing high-pressure situations with professionalism and urgency.

Minimum Requirements

  • Grade 12 (Matric)
  • 2 - 4 years' experience in a similar operations, logistics, or systems-based role
  • Qualification in Information Technology, Information Systems, or a related field (preferred)
  • Working knowledge or interest in accounting systems such as Xero, QuickBooks, or SAP
  • Strong computer literacy and ability to work across multiple systems
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Highly organised with strong administrative capabilities
  • Ability to manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously
  • Comfortable working with basic electronic components (e.g. devices, SIM cards, installations)
  • Willingness and ability to be on a 24-hour on-call rotation for emergency incidents
  • Reliable, responsible, and able to handle high-pressure situations, including after-hours work

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Maintain and manage the tracking and telematics system, including adding, updating, and removing client data
  • Manage customer accounts, including invoicing, quoting, and policy schedule updates on the accounting system
  • Log system errors and change requests with the software team to ensure optimal system performance
  • Coordinate and manage installation teams, including scheduling, quality control, and communication
  • Liaise with customers to confirm bookings, installations, and system-related matters
  • Proactively contact clients regarding non-functioning tracking units and resolve issues
  • Manage stock, inventory, and consumables related to tracking devices
  • Take ownership of stolen vehicle recovery operations, coordinating with recovery teams and clients
  • Monitor and respond to alerts via the emergency system, ensuring immediate escalation and action when required
  • Handle the 24-hour emergency phone line, including after-hours and weekend incidents
  • Communicate updates to clients throughout recovery processes and ensure resolution
  • Work closely with internal teams and management to support overall operational efficiency
  • Maintain accurate records, reporting, and system integrity across all functions
