Introduction
Our client, a leading distributor of premium brands, is looking for an exceptional Trade Marketing Manager to join their dynamic team in KwaZulu Natal. Duties & Responsibilities
1. Drive Strategic Brand Growth
• Define and implement clear, measurable objectives aligned with brand cycle plans.
• Translate brand strategies into actionable guidelines for distribution and activations across all channels.
• Adapt plans and budgets to respond to market shifts, customer needs, and competitor activity.
• Leverage commercial data to monitor ROI and execution performance.
• Build competitive advantage through deep market insights and trend analysis.
2. Deliver Flawless Execution
• Customize execution plans using trade data for maximum impact.
• Ensure premium visibility, availability, and consumer experience at every touchpoint.
• Execute on-trade and off-trade activations with precision, including POS and merchandising strategies.
• Provide the right tools and resources to strengthen brand equity in each channel.
3. Build Strong Partnerships
• Maintain open communication with internal teams, agencies, suppliers, and customers.
• Share trade insights and unlock opportunities during weekly commercial meetings.
• Support cycle-planned activities and align execution expectations with the commercial team.
• Strengthen key trade relationships to drive growth and collaboration.
4. Manage Budgets & Insights
• Lead annual budget planning and maintain monthly performance trackers.
• Allocate budgets strategically with clear KPIs and ROI targets.
• Evaluate proposed activities for brand fit and volume objectives before approval.
• Report on trade performance and competitor activity.
• Analyze data from platforms like Data Orbis and QlikView to uncover actionable insights.
5. Oversee POSM & Event Support
• Manage procurement and allocation of promotional materials and point-of-sale assets.
• Track POSM by account and quantity for accurate distribution.
• Conduct quarterly audits of event materials with stakeholders to ensure compliance and quality.
Desired Experience & Qualification
• Education: A relevant 3-year qualification in Marketing, Business, or related field (preferred).
• Experience: Minimum 5 years’ experience in Trade Marketing or Brand Activation (liquor industry experience advantageous).
• Technical Skills:
• Proficiency in MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint for reporting and presentations.
• Strong analytical ability with experience using data platforms such as Data Orbis, QlikView, or similar BI tools to extract insights and guide decision-making.
