Responsibilities:
- Proactively partner with the business to develop an in-depth understanding of the company's resourcing needs to assist in targeting top talent.
- Review, contact and pre-screen a high volume of prospective candidates.
- Continually analyze the current environment and emerging needs of the organization to provide informed recommendations on tools or process changes that will positively affect the company's ability to attract and retain top talent.
- Design innovative sourcing strategies using multiple resources including internet, direct sourcing, networking, educational institutes, and affiliated associations to source potential candidates.
- Identify and network with key talent pools to actively headhunt passive candidates and generate pipelines for current and future vacancies.
- Streamline and communicate recruitment procedures and programs to managers.
- Manage the talent pipeline using our applicant tracking system (Taleo), documenting all communication and activity regarding the candidate.
- Contributing to the execution of the social media and digital recruitment strategies as they relate to recruitment.
- Research and recommend new sources for active and passive candidate recruiting.
- Plan and conduct recruitment and selection processes (interviews, screening calls etc.).
- Leverage organizational strategy and labor market knowledge to find top talent that aligns to the strategic needs of the organization.
- Develop recruitment strategies using various sourcing techniques, interviewing candidates, and creating and extending job offers.
- Build networks to find and direct source passive candidates to meet current and future hiring demands
- Own and manage the entire recruiting lifecycle from requisition to on-boarding.
- Champion our brand and promote Phoenix Industrial as an employer of choice to all candidates via the use of social media and branding activities.
- Develop and lead employment branding initiatives.
- Challenge and educate hiring managers on talent assessment, business/talent risks of hiring certain candidates, and talent assumptions.
- Be Accountable for performance targets (i.e., conversion ratio, recruiting effectiveness, hiring manager and candidate satisfaction).
- Organize and/or attend career fairs, assessment centers or other events.
- Use metrics to create reports and identify areas of improvement.
Requirements:
- Demonstrate success to develop and execute recruitment strategies in varied construction markets within a high-volume, fast-paced environment, while maintaining ownership of the candidate and hiring manager experience.
- Minimum 3 years proven progressive experience in recruitment, talent specialization or equivalent, ideally construction oriented.
- Experience in full-cycle recruiting.
- Experience in building relationships with regard to candidate sourcing and selection, market demographics, and broadening search parameters to improve the quality of talent pool.
- Comprehensive behavioral-based interviewing and candidate assessment skills.
- Excellent knowledge of the Alberta labor market.
- Familiar with networking and sourcing trends, including extensive use of LinkedIn Recruiter and social media channels, displaying persistence in following up to obtain information and foster relationships for on-going talent management and relationship building.
- Capable of utilizing Applicant Tracking Systems, experience with Taleo an asset.
- Experience working in a high-volume, fast-paced team environment while managing multiple projects to successful completion.
- Knowledge of current and proposed employment standards, code, and regulations.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office-Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Strong verbal and written English communication skills.
- Demonstrate strong organizational skills, consistent attention to detail, flexibility, self-direction, be a team member, and prioritization of work are all essential.
- Must be able to exercise judgment, professionalism, diplomacy, and discretion particularly when dealing with highly sensitive and confidential issues.
- Superior focus on written clarity with strong technical writing, editing and proof-reading skills.
- Experience using Taleo would be consider an asset.
- Preference will be given to candidates with industry and or technical experience.
- Preference will be given to candidates who have experience working in Oil & Gas, Trades and, or high-volume environments.
